News and Announcements
We are so excited about this swim season! The Coaching staff has restructured the training groups for the upcoming season. Our previous training groups are no longer and we have started from scratch with our groups. We have done this to promote team unity, exposure to our coaching staff and an increased training program. If you are a swimmer who is currently registered on our team, please see our team e-mail that was sent out about our summer season. Our season will start Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019.
If you are a swimmer interested in joining our team, please contact email@example.com for more information on how to join our team!
This is our 1st training group. Swimmers are taught all 4 legal competitive strokes, streamlines, underwater kicks, racing starts, and turns. As a prerequisite, swimmers must be able to swim a 25-yard distance without stopping. Swimmers should attend a minimum of 2 practices a week, with 4 practices a week being offered this summer. Swimmers should have caps, goggles, and swimsuits.
This is the first level of our advance training groups. While there is still a heavy emphasis on stroke technique and fundamentals, swimmers in this group begin building a strong aerobic base by swimming longer distance repeats on intervals of shorter rest. Swimmers are required to be able to swim a 100-yard distance comfortably. Swimmers must be legal in 3 of the 4 competitive strokes and demonstrate correct starts and turns. Swimmers should attend a minimum of 3 practices a week, with 5 practices a week being offered this summer. Swimmers in this group are required to have their own fins, buoys, caps, goggles, and swimsuits.
This group prepares swimmers for our senior group. Swimmers are introduced to more advanced training skills while continuing to perfect technique and fundamentals. Swimmers in the Gold groups should be able to complete 200-yard swims without stopping or slowing. Swimmers will be introduced to age-appropriate body weight dry land exercises. Swimmers should attend a minimum of 4 swim practices a week and 1 dry land work out, with 6 swim practices and 2 dry land options being offered. Swimmers in this group are required to have their own fins, pull buoys, kick boards, caps, goggles, and swimsuits.
This is our highest level of training groups. Swimmers in the senior groups are expected to have a high level of commitment to swimming. They are encouraged to set higher goals and are challenged to reach them. Workouts are strenuous and swimmers are expected to be disciplined and to pay attention to details. Swimmers should attend a minimum of 5 practices a week and 2 dry land options, with 8 swim practices and 4 dry land options being offered. Swimmers are required to have their own fins, pull buoys, kick boards, caps, goggles, and swimsuits.
